
CANDON, Ilocos Sur — Showing what heart can achieve, Team Heart emerged victorious over Team Hustle in four sets, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 25-17, in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Star event on Friday night at the Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur.
Team Heart was led by 2026 PVL All-Filipino Rookie of the Conference Bella Belen, who is also the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player (MVP), and was backed by Alyssa Valdez, Vanie Gandler, Jema Galanza, and Myla Pablo.
The Rald Ricafort mentored-squad opened the match with a 25-18 victory as Belen wowed the fans in Candon City, firing killer blows.
In the second frame, PVL three-time MVP Brooke Van Sickle took over as she shook down the defense of Team Heart for a 18-25 decision.
However, Team Heart recovered its form, and middle-blocker Bea De Leon also played as an opposite spiker for the first time, 25-23.
In the fourth frame. Team Heart led by 20-11 as Gandler, Pablo, and Majoy Baron all chipped in their forces.
Despite the comeback attempts of Team Hustle, Belen put up fiery kills, 24-17.
Team Heart called on a volunteer as a spiker, and the volunteer successfully finished the match as De Guzman set the ball to him, 25-17
In the Spikers’ Turf edition, Team Power went all out to shut down Team Hustle after a four-set victory, 25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23.
Noel Kampton finished as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after leading his squad with 14 points, as Mark Ronquillo backed him up with nine points.
Head coach Sydney Calderon expressed how glad she is to witness her team work together and capture the first-ever Spikers’ Turf championship title.
Team Passion was led by Mark Calado, who scored 16 points.
The All-Star game featured a “Premier Ball” that counts as two points, where teams will signal a heart sign upon the service line. The “two-point ball” can only be requested once per set.
Two liberos are also allowed to play inside the court and can also spike in the front row.
Winning teams received P100,000 from Candon City Mayor Erik Singson, while the losing teams took home P50,000.
