MELAKA - A teenage boy’s journey to return home after meeting friends on the eve of National Day celebrations was cut short after he died in an accident on Jalan Persisiran Pantai Klebang here, on Thursday morning.

In the 2.23am incident, the victim, a student at Melaka Tengah Vocational College, Muhammad Thaqif Mohd Firdaus, died at the scene due to severe head injuries.

Melaka Tengah district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit said that when the incident occurred, the 16-year-old victim riding a Yamaha 125Z motorcycle was heading towards Pantai Puteri from the city centre.

“There is no CCTV recording in the area, but the investigation is still ongoing,” he said when contacted here on Thursday.

The victim’s body was sent to the Melaka Hospital Forensic Department and the case was investigated under Section 41(1) APJ 1987.
