KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 — A 17-year-old girl who was reported missing in Batang Kali on Tuesday (July 23) was found safe in Triang, Bera, Pahang at 12.30am today.

Hulu Selangor district police deputy chief DSP Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said that following Nurul Aishah Farhana Azni’s discovery, a man in his 20s was arrested, who is believed to be the teenager’s boyfriend.

“The victim, who had family problems, was found in a house belonging to the suspect’s relative. The victim and the suspect are also believed to be in a relationship,” he said in a statement today.

The victim was taken to the Kuala Kubu Baharu Hospital for a health check-up, while the urine test conducted on the suspect was found to be negative for drugs.

Additional checks on the unemployed suspect showed no past record involving criminal or drug cases.

“The suspect, who was believed to have run away with the victim, was remanded from today until July 27, and the case is being investigated under Section 363 of the Penal Code and Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,” Asri said.

Yesterday, the police asked for the public’s help in locating the teenage girl who was last seen at Makan Sakon Thai, Jalan Mahagoni 7/1A Bandar Utama Batang Kali, at 9.30pm on Tuesday.
