
KIMANIS: The National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun Nasional) aims to support 5,000 entrepreneurs in Sabah this year with a funding allocation of RM125 million.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said since its establishment in 1998, Tekun Nasional has disbursed RM1.159 billion to 65,242 entrepreneurs through its 26 offices in Sabah, as of December last year.
Advertisement“As of January this year, RM7.4 million has been channelled to 412 Tekun entrepreneurs in Sabah.
In the Kimanis parliamentary constituency, RM190,000 was provided to 14 entrepreneurs during the same period,” he said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Tekun Kimanis branch office, here, Saturday.

Read more The Kimanis office, which is Tekun’s 175th branch, began operations on Sept 2 last year.
Ewon noted that the establishment of this new office, which integrates with the Beaufort office, is part of ongoing improvements to enhance support for entrepreneurs.
AdvertisementTo assist traders at Pasar Tamu, Tekun Nasional is also offering financing under the Tamu Entrepreneur Financing Scheme.
“Since its launch in 2023, the scheme has disbursed RM6.1 million, benefiting 1,525 Tekun entrepreneurs in Sabah,” he added.
