
KUALA LUMPUR - Four out of the 28 Cabinets members who will be a part of the unity government cabinet took the oath of office as Senate Members for one term effective Saturday.
The swearing-in ceremony was held before Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim at Parliament House here at 8.30am.
Those who took the oath of office were Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail who would lead the Home Ministry and former finance minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz who was appointed as International Trade and Industry Minister.
Two others who took their oaths as senators were Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir, who holds the post of Foreign Affairs Minister and Syariah Judge chief Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar who was appointed as Religious Affair Minister.
Saifuddin Nasution, Zambry and Mohd Naim are the new appointees of the Dewan Negara by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Riayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah while Tengku Zafrul was re-appointed after the approval of His Majesty.
