Kota Kinabalu: Police had to fire tear gas to disperse an unruly crowd unhappy over the disqualification of Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masya-rakat (KDM) candidate Datuk Peter Anthony in Tenom.
The crowd got restless and emotional when Peter’s nomination papers were not approved by the returning officer due to an earlier court conviction.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Idris Abdullah said the incident saw about 300 KDM supporters trying to barge into the centre.
