A Texas cop appeared to push New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson as the team celebrated their NBA championship win.
On Saturday (13 June), the Knicks clinched the title after beating the San Antonio Spurs, 94-90, in the fifth game of the best-of-seven series.
Footage that was widely shared on Tuesday (16 June) shows Brunson, who was awarded the NBA Finals MVP, walking through a crowd when the officer appears to extend both his hands forward in the direction of Brunson.
As Brunson turned around, the officer appeared to instruct the player to move out of the way. Rick Brunson, his father and assistant Knicks coach, appeared to tell the officer: “Don't push him.”
The Independent has reached out to Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
