PUTRAJAYA - A former minister arrived at the Magistrate’s Court here today for remand proceedings in connection with investigations into the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) Report on Tabung Haji (TH).

The man, in his 60s, arrived at 10.25am wearing an orange Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) remand shirt.

The individual was arrested at about 4.30 pm yesterday while he was at the MACC headquarters to have his statement recorded, believed to be in connection with investigations into a hotel lease issue involving TH in Saudi Arabia.

The TH RCI report was made public on July 29, documenting various weaknesses in TH’s management and operations between 2014 and 2020, as well as listing problematic investments requiring a forensic audit.

The report also stated that there were suspicious transactions and concealment of information. - BERNAMA
