Last year, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hinted at “good news” for Malaysians regarding a programme under Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA). Following this, the government rolled out a one-off RM100 aid for all Malaysians aged 18 and above, credited directly to their MyKad.

The government has since renewed the aid for this year, and many Malaysians are already using it to stock up on groceries.

Malaysian ustaz inspired by the government’s rm100 aid initiative to give back to the community

Inspired by the initiative, a Malaysian ustaz (religious teacher) took to Facebook to express his appreciation, praising the government for “working for the people.”

In his post, he shared that it was his first time using his MyKad to buy groceries. He described the experience as feeling “so light” after paying just RM7.15 for a trolley filled with various items.

“Thank you, MADANI Government. Alhamdulillah, this is my first time using my MyKad to buy groceries. It felt so light. A full trolley only cost me RM7.15. Paying taxes really feels worthwhile.

“It’s not impossible that in the coming years, it won’t just be RM100 a month… Maybe the government could even give RM500 a month when it’s managed by a great team. Keep it up, MADANI Government, working for the people,” he wrote.

The ustaz later shared that the government’s efforts had inspired him to give back to the community by offering RM50 each to 20 lucky Malaysians via his Telegram channel.

“I want to share some blessings by giving RM50 to 20 people. I’ll announce [the winners] on the 6th at 10:30 PM. I’ll randomly select them from the list of subscribers on my official Telegram channel. Pray that I’m always blessed with abundance,” he added.
