The moment you turn 30, is that time in most people’s life where they will feel an invisible clock ticking and the question on their mind will be one that sounds like “Do you have it all?” and the mental pressure will start to slowly creep in.
As for me, it was really heavy. I am sure many people would have felt this heaviness too. At 30, I am already married with a one year old. I think i achieved that obvious “deadline”. Now, you would be wondering about the heaviness that i had.
Well, the challenge i faced was that i had to let go the career ladder because i wanted to be a full time mom and till this date, i am not emotionally ready to get back to work, leaving my baby in another person’s care. But, everytime i see an advertisement of a job that i dreamt of, the working perks, or any work related posts, it whispered only one thing, that “I am behind”.
I always told myself that i will start something from home, but i never did. I know success takes time, and that one day, i will achieve everything to my best ability. But for a start, I changed my mindset. I realised that i needed to help myself first.
Instead of doubting myself, by drowning in my thoughts of what i had to let go, what i could not achieve. I thought of everything that i went through these years, the strength that i had, the things that i survived.
And now, i realised “I am 30, and No, i dont have it all” but i have myself, i have my small circle and that will fuel me to push further and achieve all that i can while still being the best to my little family.
