The Lee Dong-wook starrer K-drama The Divorce Insurance wrapped up its finale episode on a bittersweet note, as the characters embraced second chances and rediscovered love. Wondering how things turned out for protagonists Ki-jun and Han-deul? Our ending explained piece breaks down the final moments of The Divorce Insurance.

Directed by Lee Won-suk, known for hit Korean movies like How to Use Guys with Secret Tips (2013), The Divorce Insurance balances satire with romance as it explores whether love alone is enough to sustain a marriage. It follows Noh Ki-jun (played by Lee Dong-wook), a product development employee at Plus General Insurance who, after enduring three divorces, devises a bold new concept: divorce insurance plans.

Alongside Lee Dong-wook, the show’s ensemble cast includes Lee Joo-been as the sharp insurance underwriter Kang Han-deul, Lee Kwang-soo as risk surveyor An Jeon-man, and Lee Da-hee as quantitative financial analyst Jeon Na-rae.

Spoilers ahead!

The Divorce Insurance ending explained: Is Ki-jun’s policy a success?

Yes, it is.

Although Ki-jun’s team faces major setbacks, including accusations that their plan promotes divorce, Ki-jun doesn’t give up.

In the finale of the 2025 K-drama, the team works hard to fine-tune the AI underwriter, a system designed to assess relationship risks and determine policy terms before clients purchase the divorce insurance plan. Ki-jun explains that this ensures the decisions are impartial, accurate and ethically sound. His efforts pay off when the company’s Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) grants his team the approval.

Towards the end of the episode, the divorce insurance policy officially launches, attracting its first client, company president Dae-bok’s daughter.

The show ends with Ki-jun proposing yet another quirky insurance plan to Dae-bok, this time, ‘pride insurance’.

Does Jeon-man move to Singapore with Na-rae?

Yes, he does.

Initially, Na-rae’s offer to go to Singapore catches Jeon-man off guard. This leads him to seek advice from Ki-jun, who encourages him to take the chance. Initially hesitant, Jeon-man finally rushes to the airport on the day of Na-rae’s flight. Overcome with emotion, the couple share a kiss, following which Jeon-man decides to go with Na-rae.

The Divorce Insurance ending explained: Do Ki-jun and Han-deul remain together?

Yes, they do.

After successfully launching the policy, Ki-jun and Han-deul shift their focus to each other. Ki-jun confesses that from the moment he first saw her at the grocery store, he knew Han-deul was the one for him.

In the following days, the couple share several quiet, romantic moments — eating ice cream at the playground, taking a walk down the pier and opening up about each other’s lives.

By the end of the romantic comedy drama, Ki-jun and Han-deul choose to leave behind the weight of their past divorces and take a leap towards the future with each other.
