A Malaysian TikToker, known as Abang Bas was arrested by PDRM for filming underage girls in his content without the parents’ consent, who were all the students on his bus.

One of the viral clips also shows him taking off the hijab of a sleeping student before giving her a peck on the cheek.

His content did not sit well with many Malaysians, including the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

Abang Bas has since resurfaced on TikTok after losing all of his content and a large chunk of followers. In his recent posts, the 24-year-old TikToker urged Malaysians, especially other TikTokers who are using this issue to gain traction to stop defaming him.

Abang Bas explained that he is merely naturally friendly to others, including kids. He also clarified that he never had any ill intentions towards the kids, and said the kid that he has always carried and wiped her sweats is her niece.

“I am conscience enough to know that it’s not the right thing to simply do it to other kids.”

“To all the media, stop with the defaming headline. To those who defame me, I will not keep quiet and I will fight!” Abang Bas said.

Johor Police Chief CP M. Kumar A/L S. Muthuvelu said the case is being investigated under Section 15(a)(iii) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and Section 15(2) of the Child Act 2001. If found guilty, Abang Bas may face up to 10 years in jail, up to RM20,000 fine, or both.
