Brooks Koepka took to social media on Monday to troll his long time nemesis, Bryson DeChambeau.
Koepka’s rivalry with DeChambeau goes back a long way, but we didn’t see much animosity between the two players while the former was playing on LIV Golf.
It’s fair to say that the rivalry between the two players has simmered over the past two or three years.
However, there was a moment back in August last year when it was clear that Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau still didn’t see eye-to-eye, when the five-time major winner labelled the two-time US Open champion as a ‘strange cat’.
Koepka made those remarks because DeChambeau chose not to play him in the singles of the semi-final clash between The Crushers and Smash GC.
However, the real rivalry began back in 2019 when Koepka complained about DeChambeau’s slow play.
The two-time major winner approached Koepka’s caddie on the putting green following the five-time major champion’s comments, and told him to tell his boss to speak to him if he had a problem with slow play.
DeChambeau then criticized Koepka’s physique after the Floridian appeared in ESPN The Magazine’s The Body Issue.

Koepka responded by sending DeChambeau a picture on social media of the four major championship trophies he had won at the time along with the caption, ‘two short of a six pack’.
Brooks Koepka trolling DeChambeau proves the PGA Tour must act
In 2021 during the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, Koepka reacted hilariously when DeChambeau walked behind him during an interview.
The 35-year-old rolled his eyes and paused the interview.
It is painfully clear to see that the two players do not like each other one bit.
The rivalry subsided while they both played on LIV, but now that Koepka has returned to the PGA Tour, it seems as though it’s very much open season once again.
Koepka trolled DeChambeau on social media on Monday night.
DeChambeau suggested he was the best major player in the world around 2024/2025, and Koepka responded by saying, ‘Cool story’.
The relationship they shared on LIV Golf was a cordial one for the most part.

However, anyone who has kept track of their rivalry throughout the years would have realized that the two players were not fond of one another.
Now the PGA Tour have a very easy decision to make after Koepka came out and trolled DeChambeau in such a public manner.
PGA Tour must try to bring Bryson DeChambeau back
Whatever some people say about DeChambeau, he is still an absolute box office superstar in the game of golf.
The 32-year-old is a huge draw and is one of the very few genuine needle-movers in the game today.
He is someone who fans seek out while they are in attendance at the golf course.
His star power alone should be good enough reason for the PGA Tour to move heaven and earth to bring him back.
However, Koepka trying to reignite his rivalry with DeChambeau is another.
The PGA Tour is quite obviously the best place to compete if you’re a top tier professional golfer.
However, the one thing that is really missing is any kind of real rivalries between players.
The likes of Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Cam Young and Matt Fitzpatrick all have so much respect for each other.
That’s great for them, but not so great for the fans. Back in the day there were genuine rivalries between players.
Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia never saw eye-to-eye, while the same can be said for Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson.
There was real animosity between those players at times, whereas everything nowadays is too ‘nicey nicey’, so to speak.
The Bryson DeChambeau vs Brooks Koepka rivalry is exactly what the PGA Tour needs right now, and Brian Rolapp and co need to do everything in their power to make it happen.
