In fairness to Jordan Spieth, he bounced back really well from his disappointing round of 73 on Saturday by shooting a 66 on Sunday at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson.
Spieth keeps telling everyone he’s close to rediscovering his best form and halfway through the CJ CUP Byron Nelson, it seemed like he really was.
However, the 32-year-old’s weak link reared its ugly head once again on day three at TPC Craig Ranch.
Jordan Spieth‘s putting and driving let him down, and he made a double bogey at a really crucial part of his round on the 15th hole.

The Dallas native had a really good chance to win the CJ CUP Byron Nelson midway through the tournament after shooting rounds of 68 and 62.
However, Spieth admitted that his round of 62 on Friday at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson was far from perfect, after he drove the ball ‘horribly’.
The reason why Jordan Spieth struggled so badly on Saturday at the CJ CUP
Spieth’s poor driving came back to bite him on Saturday as he carded a round of two-over par 73 when almost everyone else was going seriously low.
However, his real problem in McKinney, Texas, this week seemingly lied behind the scenes.
After playing his second round, Spieth spoke to reporters and explained why he was so angry with himself, despite having just posted a round of 62.
“I played the front nine on the Pro-Am, and I looked at a couple greens on the back nine. Frankly, it showed yesterday,“ Spieth admitted.
“I was actually pretty upset last night that I didn’t do more on Monday and Tuesday. I didn’t come out here at all, fourth week in a row and 13th week out of 16. But with a new golf course, if you’re going to play the tournament, you’ve got to be prepared.

“I legitimately felt like I lost a couple shots yesterday on the back nine because I didn’t come out here and see it. That was eating at me a little bit last night. I was like why would you play if you’re not going to prepare the right way?“
So, he failed to prepare and by doing that, he prepared to fail, as the old saying goes.
And that clearly caught up with him on Saturday in McKinney, Texas.
The only positive is that he will surely learn from his lack of preparation at TPC Craig Ranch this week.
Jordan Spieth delivers honest verdict on his game right now
Spieth spoke to reporters after his final round and suggested that he is very close to producing his best golf.
“Today was good. It was close,“ he admitted.
“I had a couple eagle looks that kind of caught lips and really had a chance to be a special day. Just was a yard off on a couple irons.
“All in all, today was about going out and trying to fire away early and try to post a really low number. It was all there. It was just a little bit here and there.
“I felt like I hit my lines really well. Yesterday I didn’t make much, but I was still hitting good putts. Today was kind of a mixed bag.
“I felt like I had a hard time this week adjusting from last week on the speed. There was a significant drop in the speed of these greens. I think that that — had I hit a number of putts a little bit harder, I think a lot of guys who played last week would probably say the same thing.
“But ultimately, I feel good about where it’s at. I feel good about where my game’s at. I just didn’t get a lot to show for it. I’m going to stay patient and stay the course.“
