Scholarships are not only an added advantage for many students; for many, they are a need in order to cover the expenses and tuition fees of their higher education. But applying for scholarships frequently comes with an unanticipated cost, waiting a long time in silence. Many worthy students - especially those who are truly in need of financial aid are left feeling anxious and unclear about their futures by this lack of communication, especially when it is combined with inequalities in the selection process.

Students often experience silence following their application submission, wondering if their application was received, processed or reviewed. Even those who are shortlisted faces the same scenario. Students who depend on scholarships to help them decide whether to enroll, take out loans, or look for other forms of financial aid will find this waiting time and silence very difficult. Many are kept in uncertainty without prompt choices, which forces them to think about alternative options, including getting a job.

Though many advise “just go work”, it might be difficult for recent graduates or students to find well-paying employment. Even with all the necessary skills and a strong CGPA, entry-level jobs frequently pay poorly, hard enough to meet basic living expenses. It can take years to save enough money for living expenses and tuition fees while working a full-time job, which further delays a student's journey to complete their choice of course and career placement. Students from disadvantaged families, who may already be juggling employment, academics, and family responsibilities will find this financial strain particularly challenging.

Scholarship preconceptions make matters more difficult by frequently favoring students from prestigious colleges and universities, making their choice through a less than 30-minute interviews online over those who genuinely need the money due to difficulties. Inequality in the selection process is produced by this, and students who already having difficulty making ends meet and really in need of an aid, are burdened even more.

Students feel anxious and worried about their futures in the face of these obstacles. In order to prevent worthy students from being left in dark and forced to look for options that might take years to complete, scholarship providers must address these problems by making sure that fair selection procedures are followed and that applicants are kept informed at all times either if they are getting in or not in order for them to plan out their future timely without wasting their precious time on waiting for a long time than the deadline.
