Chandigarh: A workshop on “classroom management” was organised at The Tribune School, Sector 29, for the teaching faculty. The session, conducted by Jyoti Kattna — a practising psychologist, ICF-certified life coach, corporate trainer and teacher facilitator — focused on helping educators understand students better and adopt effective classroom management strategies. She shared practical techniques and simple yet effective ways to handle diverse student behaviours with empathy and confidence. Teachers actively participated in the interactive session, gaining valuable insights into creating a positive and engaging classroom environment. Her enriching session was appreciated by the faculty members.

Chitkara International School

Chandigarh: Students of Chitkara International School (CIS), Sector 25, delivered an outstanding performance at the prestigious MaRRS International Spelling Bee Championship 2026 held in Mumbai recently, bringing international recognition to the institution and the region. The globally acclaimed championship evaluates spelling accuracy, pronunciation, vocabulary, verbal reasoning and advanced linguistic aptitude. Among the top achievers was Aakash Nimwal from the CIS Panchkula campus, who secured a perfect score of 100 and achieved the first international rank in Category 1. Anjali De of Class II (CIS Panchkula) earned the title of “Budding Star” in Category 2 with 62 marks. Students from the 2023-24 batch of the Panchkula campus, whose competition cycle was extended from the previous year, also registered notable achievements. Ayra Mehta secured 80 marks and rank 2 in Category 1, while Shaurya Saluja obtained 58 marks and rank 8 in the same category.

Gurukul Global School

Chandigarh: The management of Gurukul Global School, in association with the Rotary Club, Chandigarh Midtown, donated a funeral van to the Chandigarh Red Cross Society. The newly procured vehicle was flagged off by Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman of the Red Cross Society, Chandigarh, and Neena Setya, president of Gurukul Global School. The induction of the van is expected to strengthen emergency responses and supplement the humanitarian services rendered by the Red Cross Society. Speaking on the occasion, Yadav stated that the van would greatly assist the community, especially in times of urgent need.

Chandigarh: A workshop on “stress management” was conducted for the teachers of Ashiana Public School by Monica Mann, a CBSE-certified resource person and eminent academic advisor. With over 26 years of experience in education and literature, Mann highlighted the importance of managing stress in today’s demanding lifestyle. During the session, she discussed the various professional and personal stressors faced by teachers, emphasising the need to maintain mental and emotional well-being. She also shared practical coping techniques, including time management, positive thinking, meditation, deep breathing exercises and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

The overnight stay was thoughtfully planned as a gentle step toward helping students become more confident and independent as they prepare to enter middle school.
