As a solo artist, Harry Styles has never shied away from embracing weird, strange, and even eccentric creative ideas for his music videos. Through his music videos, Styles always tells a story, creating short art films full of metaphors and humour, often imbued with deeper meanings. Now, after almost a three-year long hiatus, the pop star is back with his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, released on 6 March, 2026. The album has once again struck up conversations surrounding his eccentric music videos.
As we enjoy the new album, particularly the single “Aperture”, we’re taking a look at the most eccentric Harry Styles music videos to date.
Ranking the most eccentric music videos of Mr. Harry Styles
Late Night Talking (2022)
We love the chaotic energy of the “Late Night Talking” MV, which treads the fine line between normal and slightly unhinged. The pop video starts with the singer in bed, and progresses with him travelling from bed to bed, even on highways, underwater, and in hospitals. Styles plays a Casanova-type character in this video, only staying with people for the night before disappearing. Through his short film, the artist explores the true face of modern casual relationships. At the end, he shows us that when push comes to shove, the Casanova finds himself falling alone, making it a cautionary tale for The Unfettered.
Satellite (2023)
Styles doesn’t have a big role in this music video; the protagonist of the “Satellite” music video is actually a small cleaning robot resembling the Mars rover. The robot escapes from the backstage of his show and wanders around the city, experiencing different weather as well as different surroundings. It navigates complex human emotions of longing and loneliness, searching for connection throughout the world. However, when it finally reaches a satellite, its battery dies, leaving it to look up at the sky and rest. It’s not necessarily an eccentric video; it’s heartfelt with Pixar-like emotional play, and acts as a metaphor for loneliness and a longing for a connection.
As It Was (2022)
“As It Was” is one of the biggest hits from Harry Styles’ discography, and the music video features high-concept abstract imagery which is not very easy to decode. He spends most of the video on a spinning platform in a bright red jumpsuit with a girl in blue mostly walking and running. The video features artistic imagery and almost hypnotic scenes, which are not weird per se, but almost surreal to watch as a viewer.
Kiwi (2017)
“Kiwi” is a chaotic song with mature lyrics, but the music video is a wild ride, showcasing a room full of kids in designer clothes engaging in a huge food fight. The video is filled with pure childlike-chaos and fun. Our fruit enthusiast pop star, Harry also has a mini-me in the video, who represents his carefree alter ego, while he plays the sensible adult. The video is a stark contrast from its lyrics, leaving many fans confused about its theme.
Aperture (2026)
If the latest Harry Styles music video “Aperture” from has left you dumbfounded, you are not alone. The video starts with Styles checking into a hotel room and ordering room service. However, upon visiting the front desk, he notices a random man following him with his takeout. This man then proceeds to chase him through the hotel lobby and stairs. They fight, but then the stranger catches Harry in Dirty Dancing style, an event that changes the dynamic between them, and leads to them dancing together. Though the video is quite eccentric, it’s a symbolic representation of letting go of the past and accepting it for what it is. Some fans also think it’s about his relationship with fame. Everything aside, it’s a very Harry Styles-esque music video — wild, mind boggling, and weird in a good way.
Adore You (2019)
Styles has a particular fondness for marine life, without a doubt. He picked a huge fish to be his screen partner in the music video for “Adore You.” Set in the fictional, gloomy town of Eroda (“Adore” spelt backward), Harry portrays an oddball whose dazzling grin causes everyone to go blind. He befriends and starts nurturing a giant fish with love. However, when the moment comes for the fish to be released into the ocean, the mundane town gladly unites to support him. Through this video, the singer shows how love changes people and their perspectives.
Music for a Sushi Restaurant (2022)
“Music for a Sushi Restaurant” has to be one of the most bizarre music videos in Harry Styles’ catalogue. Here, Styles plays a tentacled merman (a squid-human hybrid) who is worshipped by sushi chefs, only to be exploited for his musical talents. He turns into a restaurant entertainer. While the chefs are frustrated with his lavish behaviour, they tolerate him with a smile because he performs well and brings in revenue. However, as soon as he loses his vocal prowess, the chefs waste no time tossing him aside and turning him into dinner. This music video is laced with dark comedy, and through this, the singer reveals the brutal truth of the music and entertainment industry in a metaphorical way. It’s undoubtedly odd, grotesque, and hilarious, but ultimately thought-provoking.
