Much like luxury lounges, amenity kits, and gourmet dining, out-of-the-box safety videos, too, go a long way in elevating the in-flight experience. Carriers like Air New Zealand, Delta, and Air India are rivalling mini-films with their concept-driven videos featuring rib-tickling dialogue, world-class VFX, Hobbit-esque filming locations, and Bridgerton-style drama. In light of Singapore’ Airline’s new inflight safety video, we thought we’d check out the rest of the coolest airline safety videos ever made.
Safety meets cinema: Our favourite airline safety videos
Air New Zealand
Leading the pack with creativity, Hollywood-level production, and gripping dialogue, Air New Zealand has some of the best airline safety videos in the world. The airline’s most recent video, with a dazzling ensemble cast, is filmed at the Air All Blacks HQ (portrayed as the official airline of the team All Blacks) – proving just how crazy about rugby Air New Zealand is. This video was released ahead of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
From collaborating with The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings cast (read: Elijah Wood, Sylvester McCoy, Sir Peter Jackson, Dean O’Gorman, and Sir Richard Taylor!) to execute mini safety films featuring the magic of Middle-earth, elves, dwarves, and orcs, to releasing safety videos capturing New Zealand’s natural scenery and culture, there’s no room for ‘dull’ on Air New Zealand’s moodboard.

Air France’s chic Parisian airline safety video
Air France’s 2014 safety video is a luxury-laden virtual tour through France’s chicest addresses, such as the Paris Opera, the Château de Versailles, the iconic Eiffel Tower, and the legendary Hotel Martinez. Narrated by two flight attendants, namely Dorcas Coppin and Yoann Pigny Fournereau, the elegant video exhibits the charms of French-style travel.
French director and scriptwriter Romain Quirot, along with the original music penned by Ludovic Bource, a French composer who won a César and an Oscar, as mentioned on the Air France website.
Air India’s cultural airline safety video
For centuries, traditional Indian dance forms have been used as a medium for storytelling. Building on this, Air India’s video from 2024, titled ‘Safety Mudras’, delivers its safety instructions through eight classical and folk Indian dances such as Bihu from Assam, Kathak from Uttar Pradesh, Ghoomar from Rajasthan, and Bharatnatyam from Tamil Nadu, among others.
The safety video, directed by Bharatbala and conceptualised by Prasoon Joshi, features music by Shankar Mahadevan. The visuals bring forth India’s multicultural landscape, with filming locations set across Kerala’s backwaters, Punjab’s fields, and Rajasthan’s gilded beauty.
British Airways’ cinematic airline safety videos
‘May We Haveth One’s Attention’, British Airways’ 2024 safety video, directed by Sharon Maguire, is inspired by Britain’s famous period literature and features over 40 of the airline’s colleagues. Featuring horseback-riding Scotsmen, elegant ladies in corsets, and bejewelled royalty, the video will remind you of Bridgerton, Pride and Prejudice, and Outlander at once, but with flight safety instructions.
Additionally, British Airways’ 2017 safety video, filmed in a comedic fashion, features a celebrity-studded cast including Gillian Anderson, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Broadbent, Rob Brydon, Asim Chaudhry, Warwick Davis, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jess Glynne, Ian McKellen, and Thandie Newton. Take a look:
Delta’s nostalgic airline safety video
The widely popular Deltalina (essayed by KatherlineLee-Hinton), who featured in the airline’s viral 2008 safety video, makes a comeback in Delta’s centennial safety video of 2025, marking the airline’s 100th year of flight!
Titled ‘A Hundred Years of Safety’, Delta’s latest safety video takes flyers on a nostalgic journey through its decades of air travel, commencing in the 1920s. The video features 11 Delta logos and 10 pilot stylings and flight attendant uniforms.
Another standout video of Delta that garnered traction was the 2014 retro-styled mini-film that portrays what flying with Delta in the 80s would’ve been like. Take a look:
United Airlines
Easy and effective, United Airlines’ ‘Safety in Motion’ video from 2024 took 10 months to make and grips even the most frequent flyers. Filmed inside a life-sized, airplane-inspired sequential reaction machine, this video follows a rolling blue ball that traverses seatbelts, chutes, directional signage, and more, as the crew explains the safety procedures.
Qatar Airways’ safety video was made with plenty of Hart
In a refreshing twist on the usual cabin announcements, Qatar Airways teamed up with comedian Kevin Hart (alongside supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and content creators like Khaby Lame, Anwar & Amal Jibawi, and Adam Waheed) to deliver their latest safety video. Humour and star power kept passengers engaged throughout the video as Hart highlighted the various essential safety procedures on the flight.
