The upcoming HBO Max shows in 2025 are attracting a lot of attention, as the platform reverts to its original name after its short-lived rebranding as Max.
Although the much-anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has been delayed until 2026, fans need not be disheartened. We’ve compiled a list of equally thrilling series that will be gracing your screens later this year on HBO Max.
Starting the summer with a bang, HBO Max premiered a range of great shows in May, including the Sex and the City (1998–2004) revival series, And Just Like That… (2021–). From June onwards, the 2025 HBO Max release schedule will continue to expand. The Gilded Age (2022–) returns with its third season, streaming from 22 June. Continuing the summer’s strong line-up, James Gunn’s Peacemaker (2022–) is also set to make a comeback with a second season in August, following the events of Superman (2025).
Furthermore, although not many details are known about it, Untitled Rachel Sennott Project is one of the most anticipated HBO shows.
And if that’s not enough, Mark Ruffalo has also joined hands with HBO Max for a crime-thriller miniseries titled Task. Additionally, It: Welcome to Derry is another major franchise prequel that, thankfully, will premiere on time — and it’s one that fans are very excited about!
So, let’s take a closer look at the compelling lineup of upcoming HBO Max shows set to premiere in the second half of 2025.
