Thousands attend Ranau Kaamatan fest

RANAU: Thousands attended the Ranau District-level Kaamatan Festival 2026 at the Ranau Community Hall, officiated by Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun on Saturday.

The event featured Unduk Ngadau queens, community leaders and local representatives, highlighting strong participation from across the district.

Masidi said Kaamatan is a symbol of unity beyond race and beliefs, reflecting Sabah’s cultural strength and harmony.

He stressed that unity is the state’s most valuable “harvest” and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development in Ranau to support cultural tourism and the local economy.

District Officer Tinus Manggam echoed the message, describing Kaamatan as a platform for unity and gratitude, and praised community cooperation in preserving the festival.
