
Kota Kinabalu: Thousands of residents in Kg. Sembulan Tengah here are pleading to the State government to withdraw two notices dated Sept. 19 to evict and demolish over 200 houses in the urban village within 14 days.
Pertubuhan Penduduk dan Kebajikan Kg Sembulan Chairman Osman Omar Khan said the affected area involves water village houses behind Harbour City and Sutera Avenue spanning over 3.5-acres.
He said the residents were shocked to receive the two notices.
“Issuing the two notices is tantamount to cruelty with no consideration as no discussions were held between us the landowners and authorities prior to the issuance of the eviction and demolition notices."
