
Kota Kinabalu: A 51-year-old gardener was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with threatening to murder a lawyer.
Sazali Diman pleaded not guilty to committing the offence against Erveana Ansari by threatening to cause death to her on May 17, this year, at 10.40am, at a house in Kg Tengah Petagas, Putatan.
The charge under Section 506 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to seven years or fine or both, on conviction.
The magistrate fixed June 27 for pre-trial case management and released the accused on a bail of RM1,500 in two sureties.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man was placed on a two-year good behaviour bond after pleading guilty to having a stolen motorcycle.
The court set RM1,000 for the good behaviour bond with one surety against Muhammad Nurazlin.
Muhammad admitted to having the stolen Modenas motorcycle belonging to Haflinda Ag Jeren on Dec 5, 2023, at 12.45am at Alamesra.
He was charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of between six months and five years and liability to a fine, on conviction.
The court heard from the prosecution that the motorcycle was reported stolen on Nov 26, last year at the SICC here.
Muhammad was arrested by police at a restaurant in Alamesra after he was spotted by the complainant’s brother-in-law riding the stolen at the said area.
The motorcycle’s owner had positively identified the sai motorcycle as hers.
