A police team, led by Sub-Inspector Jassa Singh of CIA staff, Tarn Taran, arrested three persons riding motorcycles in the area near Bhullar village here on Monday evening and recovered illegal weapons from them.
The police said here on Tuesday that the accused were identified as Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Mughalchak; Shahbaz Khan, a resident of Green Avenue, Tarn Taran; and Jagroop Singh, a resident of Mundapind. The police said that two pistols with magazines and four live rounds were recovered from the accused.
The police have also impounded the two motorcycles of the accused. The local Sadar police have registered a case under Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act. The accused were produced before a court today, which sent them to two-day police custody.
