
A salesman at Tarn Taran Fuel Pump in Tarn Taran city was recently seriously injured after allegedly being attacked with a ‘kirpan’ following a dispute over payment for fuel.
The injured employee, Jaspal Singh, said he was on duty when an unidentified man arrived to get fuel filled. The transaction amounted to Rs 90. According to Singh, instead of making the payment, the man refused, and allegedly threatened him. The salesman told him the money had to be deposited with the owner of the filling station.
After some time, the same individual reportedly returned to the petrol pump armed with a ‘kirpan’, and attacked Singh, leaving him seriously injured. He sustained injuries to his head, requiring six stitches, as well as wounds to his hand. Singh has lodged a complaint with the local police and has sought security, expressing fear of further harm. The City police SHO, Inspector Navdeep Singh Bhatti, said action was being taken in this regard.
