The Shimlapuri police have solved a robbery case with the arrest of three suspects and recovery of cash, jewellery and vehicles allegedly used in the crime.

The operation was supervised by DCP (Investigation) Jaskiranjit Singh Teja, ADCP (Zone-2) Karanveer Singh and ACP (Industrial Area-B) Anubhav Jain.

According to the police, a case under relevant sections of the BNS and the Arms Act was registered at the Shimlapuri police station on May 22 in connection with a dacoity incident.

During the investigation, the police identified and arrested Harvinder Singh, Sardool Singh and Gurjit Singh. They were taken into custody on June 4.

The police said a .32-bore pistol, allegedly snatched during the crime, was recovered from them. Besides, an Hyundai i20 car and a scooter, which were allegedly used in the crime, were also seized.

The police further recovered silver jewellery and other valuables, weighing around 530 gm, along with cash amounting to ?3 lakh. Officials said the recovered property was believed to be linked to the robbery case under investigation.

Police officials termed the arrests a significant breakthrough in the case and said the recovery of the looted property would help strengthen the probe.

The suspects have been produced before a court and further investigation was underway.
