KOTA BELUD: Three people were injured after jumping from the second floor of their house that caught fire in Kampung Sangkir, here, early Wednesday.

In the 1.30 am incident, a 46-year-old woman and two boys aged six and 14 were slightly injured. Kota Belud District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief, Muhammad Syazwan Latun said the department received a call at 1.40am.

He said seven officers and personnel, including the Auxiliary Fire Officer (PBB), rushed to the scene with a machine and an Emergency Service Assistance Unit (EMRS).

“Upon arriving, firemen found that semi-permanent two-storey house were completely destroyed. We acted to control and extinguish the fire using one flow and two water jets from the truck,” he said.

“The fire was brought under control at about 3am and the operation was called off 28 minutes later”. The cause and losses are still under investigation.
