Three injured in Semporna crash

SEMPORNA: Three people suffered injuries when their vehicle involved in an accident with a three-tonne lorry along Jalan Semporna-Tawau, near Ladang Pinang, on Saturday.

Semporna Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Chief Madzlan Sarman said they received an emergency call via MERS999 at 11.10am.

“A team with the help of an FRT engine and an EMRS vehicle led by PBKII Asmaraie Noordanig rushed to the scene about 58km from the fire station here.

“The two men aged 22 and 44 as well as the 29-year-old woman were suffered lightly injury.

“The trio were moved out from the vehicle before the Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene. The fire department provided initial treatment and sent the victims using an EMRS (Emergency Medical Rescue Services) vehicle to the hospital for further treatment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the lorry escaped unhurt.

The operation ended at 12.58pm.
