
Three local men have been remanded for two days to assist in the investigation of a fatal stabbing incident in Buntong, Ipoh.
IPOH: Three local men have been remanded for two days to assist in the investigation into a fatal stabbing incident in Buntong.
Ipoh district police chief ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the remand order against the suspects, aged between 24 and 34, was issued by a magistrate’s court.
He stated the three were arrested at the Buntong Public Market at about 5.30 pm on Monday.
A friend of the victim is receiving treatment at a government hospital, while another is at a private hospital.
Both are in stable but weak condition.
Initial investigations found the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding.
Police are continuing investigations to identify the exact cause.
A 23-year-old suspect was remanded for a week starting on Monday.
Police had earlier announced a 25-year-old local man was found with serious injuries in Buntong on Monday night.
Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the cause is believed to be a dispute between groups.
He clarified the incident involved a conflict within a particular group and was not related to racial issues.
