Three-year-old boy in critical condition after being ‘thrown’ into crocodile enclosure at zoo

  • A 30-year-old man from Norfolk has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a three-year-old boy was seriously injured in a crocodile enclosure at Johnsons of Old Hurst zoo near Huntingdon.
  • Police were called to the incident at 1.24 pm and confirmed the boy ended up in the enclosure, sustaining critical but stable injuries.
  • The injured boy was transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridgeshire, where he is receiving medical attention, with specially trained officers supporting his family.
  • Detectives from the Major Crime Unit of Cambridgeshire Police are investigating the incident and have stated they do not believe the arrested man and the child knew each other.
