MetMalaysia has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across Perlis, Penang, Melaka, Labuan and parts of five other states.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across Perlis, Penang, Melaka and Labuan, as well as several areas in Kedah, Perak, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak, until 12 noon today.
In a statement, MetMalaysia said the affected areas in Kedah are Bandar Baharu, Kulim, Pendang, Pokok Sena, Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, Yan and Baling.
In Perak, the areas involved are Hulu Perak, Kerian, Selama, Larut Matang, Manjung, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Perak Tengah and Kuala Kangsar.
The warning also covers Muar, Tangkak and Batu Pahat in Johor.
In Sabah, the same warning applies to the Interior (Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Membakut and Sipitang) and the West Coast (Papar, Kota Belud, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Penampang), while in Sarawak it involves the Miri division (Marudi, Beluru, Miri and Subis).
