SHAH ALAM - The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has today issued a warning for thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain in several states in the Peninsula, Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan.
The condition is expected to last until 9pm, tonight.
In a statement issued at 5.20pm, the department said storms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over the waters of Perak, Selangor, east Johor, northern Sarawak, western Sabah and Labuan and eastern Sabah
It said the weather condition may cause strong winds up to 50 kmph and rough seas with wave height up to 3.5 metres and is dangerous to small boats.
The condition is also expected over the waters of Phuket, Straits of Melaka, Tioman, Bunguran, Southeastern part of Reef North, Reef South and Labuan until 9pm, tonight.
