Timothée Chalamet did not just watch the Knicks end 53 years of waiting; he ended up soaked in the middle of the celebration.

New York’s 94-90 win over the Spurs in San Antonio gave the Knicks their first NBA title since 1973.

It also gave one of their most famous fans a locker-room moment that instantly became part of the night’s viral afterparty.

Timothée Chalamet joins Knicks locker room party

A video showed Chalamet inside the Knicks locker room as champagne sprayed across the room and players chanted “Lisan Al-Gaib” at him.

The champagne shower led to Chalamet’s eyes burning, leading to a hilarious remark from the Academy Award-nominated actor.

“I’m not an athlete; usually, I have a stunt double to do that.”

The chant was the perfect crossover joke. Chalamet plays Paul Atreides in Dune, where Lisan Al-Gaib is tied to the messianic legend around his character, and the Knicks treated him like part celebrity mascot and part playoff omen.

The scene worked because Chalamet had not appeared during this run like a random courtside guest. He followed the Knicks through most of the 2026 playoffs, turned up repeatedly at Madison Square Garden, traveled to San Antonio for Finals games, and celebrated the Game 4 comeback as wildly as anyone in orange and blue.

After Game 5, he was seen on the court celebrating with players and later in the locker room, where the champagne shower became the clearest image of how far his access to the team has gone.

Timothée Chalamet shared Knicks title night with Ben Stiller

Ben Stiller was part of the championship scene too, continuing his own lifelong Knicks fan arc during a postseason he had spent filming moments, attending games, and celebrating alongside other New York loyalists.

Stiller’s presence made the locker-room celebration feel like a full-circle celebrity-row payoff. Chalamet, Stiller, Spike Lee, and Tracy Morgan had all been connected to the Finals run, but Game 5 was different because the team finally finished the job.

There is one detail to treat carefully. Chalamet’s Finals travel had already gone viral after he and Fat Joe took a private jet to New York before Game 3, but I could not verify reports that he flew back on the Knicks’ team plane immediately after Game 5.

What is clear is that Chalamet’s fan credentials are no longer in question. He grew up a Knicks fan, stayed visible through the hard parts of the run, and then got the celebration every long-suffering New Yorker wanted.

The Knicks won the title and Chalamet got the champagne.
