KUALA LUMPUR — His Royal Highness Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, the Regent of Johor, was among the VIPs at the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final in Qatar, where European giants Paris Saint-Germain edged South American champions Flamengo in a nail-biting penalty shootout.
Invited by Qatar Olympic Committee President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani and PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Tunku Ismail also had a brief but notable meeting with FIFA president Gianni Infantino, marking their second encounter after the October 25 Asean Summit in Malaysia.

The match, held at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium early this morning (Malaysian time), saw PSG clinch their sixth major title of 2025, adding to a stellar year for the French side.
Tunku Ismail is also set to attend the FIFA Arab Cup final between Morocco and Jordan as a special guest.
His presence at these high-profile events underscores Malaysia’s growing footprint in international football and Tunku Ismail’s continuing support for global sports. - December 18, 2025
