Touch ‘n Go eWallet introduces a cross-border EV charger roaming service between Malaysia and Singapore.

Touch ‘n Go eWallet has partnered with Voltality to introduce a new cross-border EV charger roaming feature in its mobile app. This new service allows EV users to find, use, and pay for chargers across networks in both Malaysia and Singapore, thus providing a seamless cross-border EV charging service in a single app.

With this feature, payments will be automatically deducted from your TnG eWallet balance, so users won’t need to link their credit or debit cards to use this service.

As of now, the charging network only includes several local charging point operators (CPOs), including Charge+, Kineta, ZuraCharge, EVlution, JusEV, G. Tech, REXharge, and many more. This means that larger CPOs like JomCharge, Gentari, ChargeSini, or ChargEV are not part of this network, at least for now.

In Singapore, on the other hand, the charger roaming service works with chargers from SP Mobility, CDG Engie, EV Mobility, and MNL Asia. Combined, the network now boasts over 6,000 charging points across 1,700 locations.

That said, TnG does say that it is working to get more support from CPOs to improve coverage and convenience. The company adds that the launch of this EV charger roaming service is also in support of Malaysia’s goal to install 10,000 EV charging stations by the end of 2025, which is part of the government’s larger Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB) 2021–2030.
