Former Auditor-General Tan Sri Dr Madinah Mohamad stated that she went to the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) office on the scheduled day of the Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) proceedings, waited for over 30 minutes, and was ultimately told she was not needed to give testimony.
Who does she think she is?
That she is a Tan Sri and the Auditor General and thus deserved to be treated with respect and not to be kept waiting?
Don’t say she is not aware that physical queues and system bottlenecks at government departments are common for the ordinary Malaysians.
Public healthcare facilities and key agencies like the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and National Registration Department (JPN) are some of the key government departments or agencies that literally failed the ordinary rakyat in their deliverables.
Public frustrations are common at these agencies or departments.
It is common for ordinary Malaysians seeking services at government departments to wait long hours and sometimes, told to return the next working day.
The x Auditor General fumed when she was made to wait 30 minutes and she goes off and 3 years later after the report by the RCI was published, she fumed that she was not called to give her testimony despite her waiting for 30 minutes for the RCI to call her?
The ordinary rakyat only has one thing to say to her and also all those elitist in this country.
Please join the queue and live like the ordinary rakyat in getting services from the government departments.
Don’t expect differential treatment standards just because you carried a title and an exalted position in society.
Political leaders and top civil servants should not get faster government services than regular citizens, because all people deserve equal treatment under the law.
Government departments serve the public.
Every citizen pays taxes and deserves the same level of care and speed.
When leaders get special access, regular people feel ignored.
A regular worker's time is just as valuable as a politician's time.
Long lines and delays should affect everyone equally.
