Toddler seriously injured after car crashes into playground in Ellesmere Port

  • A two-year-old boy was seriously injured after a car crashed into a nursery school playground in Ellesmere Port.
  • The incident took place around 9.54 am on Monday when a car drove through a fence and into the playground on Vale Road in the Whitby area.
  • Two other children sustained minor injuries in the collision, and the seriously injured boy was taken to hospital.
  • A 63-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving in connection with the crash.
  • Cheshire Constabulary is currently on scene conducting inquiries to establish the full circumstances of what they believe to be an isolated incident.
