- The announcement follows the immense success of 2022's Top Gun: Maverick, which grossed nearly $1.5 billion globally and received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture.
- Despite Cruise signing a non-exclusive deal with Warner Bros. earlier this year, he is still able to work on the Top Gun franchise with Paramount.
