Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has stated he was not tempted to look at Jamie Donley from the bench against West Ham United.

Spurs were 1-0 up in the Premier League game, but went on to lose 2-1 to drop more points.

As they now sit in fifth in the table, Postecoglou stated that Donley was among a large group of players trying to convince him to give them more game time.

He told reporters: Look, he's in the squad and all these kind of decisions are made within the context of all the information I have.

Players have an opportunity every day, to show what they can do and give me food for thought in terms of selecting. If I'm not doing it there's a reason why I'm not doing it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't change for next week or the week after.

It's not just about the games they play, it's about what they do on a daily basis.

Certainly Jamie, I think he's developing, it's benefitted him training with us regularly now, he's a permanent fixture in here and within that context I think our next few games, if he keeps developing the way he is he'll get an opportunity in a game as well."
