KOTA KINABALU: Tourism and property development are emerging as key drivers of job creation and entrepreneurship, giving renewed confidence to Sabah’s economic future.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam (pic), who is also Local Government and Housing Minister, urged closer collaboration between the public and private sectors to strengthen inclusive and sustainable growth across the state.
He said major investments in high-tech industries, such as the RM7.2 billion solar glass facility proposed by the Kibing Group in Kimanis, have the potential to generate thousands of jobs and reshape Sabah’s economic landscape.
At the same time, he highlighted landmark property projects in Kota Kinabalu, including The V by Jesselton, The Bedrock @ Jesselton Docklands, The Logg in Luyang, and Boulevard 360 @ Bundusan, as signs of strong investor confidence.
Sabah’s resurgent tourism industry is further reinforcing this momentum, with the return of travellers boosting businesses in Kota Kinabalu and new developments such as the upcoming Wyndham Semporna Resort set to raise the district’s profile as a premier island destination.
