
SANDAKAN: A family of four foreign tourists were rescued unharmed after getting lost while hiking at the Sandakan Rainforest Park on Friday.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station chief Jimmy Lagung said an emergency call was received at 7.28pm, prompting the immediate deployment of a rescue team to the scene.
A search and rescue operation was launched upon the team's arrival at 7.38pm.
The victims, comprising a couple and their two daughters, were located safe at 8.14pm about 100 metres from the main road.
All four individuals escaped injury and were subsequently handed over to the police for further action before the operation officially ended at 8.27pm.
