SIPITANG: The Royal Malaysian Police Sepak Takraw Championship for the Sipitang District Police Chief’s Challenge Trophy 2025 concluded recently with impressive display of skills and sportsmanship at the MDS Sipitang Futsal Court.

Organised by the SIpitang District Criminal Investigation Department, the tournament began at 7am with eight teams competing from various police departments and units across the district, including Sindumin Police Station, Sipitang Police Station and Special Branch.

Deputy District Police Chief DSP Ismail Abdullah who represented District Police Chief Supt Awang Suanda said the championship serves numerous purposes beyond sports competition.

“This tournament aims to keep our officers physically active while fostering unity and collaboration between different security forces,” said Ismail during the closing ceremony.

The matches featured intense tactical play as teams battled for the championship title.

Ismail said the event provided an excellent platform for testing officers’ skills and agility while strengthening camaraderie among personnel from different units.

“Physical fitness and discipline are essential qualities for our officers and sports activities like this help develop these attributes,” he said, expressing hope that the championship would become an annual fixture in the district’s calendar.

The event concluded with a prize presentation ceremony for the winning teams, successfully bringing together police personnel throughout Sipitang in the spirit of friendly competition.
