Toyota joins pickleball craze with nationwide Malaysian tour

SHAH ALAM: The Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026 is set to become one of the most expansive pickleball community events the country has ever seen, with a five-stop itinerary spanning Sarawak, Sabah, Johor, Penang, and the Klang Valley.

Organised by UMW Toyota Motor, the tournament carries a total prize pool of RM175,000, inviting Malaysians to compete in one of the country’s fastest-growing lifestyle sports.

Under the banner “Solo Entry. Team Glory.”, the tour introduces a unique format where individual players register independently and are grouped into teams by the organisers, injecting an immediate element of team spirit into the competition.

“At UMW Toyota Motor, ‘Mobility for All’ is about widening access to experiences that move people forward physically, socially, and emotionally,” said Datuk K. Ravindran, president of UMW Toyota Motor.

“The Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026 gives this belief a strong community expression, with a five-stop footprint that reaches players and families across both East and West Malaysia.

“By taking pickleball beyond a single centre of activity, we hope to open the court to more Malaysians and create an experience built on confidence, team spirit, and the shared happiness of playing together,” he added.

As pickleball continues to gather serious momentum in Malaysia, the tour offers a timely platform for communities to engage with a sport renowned for its high energy and social appeal.
