Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah State Education Fund (TPNS) has disbursed RM40 million to benefit 27,781 students across the State since its inception in June 2022.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said between January and August this year alone, 11,383 students received aid totalling RM15.89 million under the fund.
Speaking at the presentation of RM6.79 million in aid to 362 recipients here at Menara Kinabalu, Hajiji also launched the TPNS Smart Application System to enable fully online applications and real-time status checks.
He noted that the State Government's wider educational commitment is reflected in the Sabah State Government Scholarship (BKNS) allocation, which rose more than threefold from RM50 million in 2020 to RM155 million this year.
Hajiji also urged local and international corporations operating in Sabah to support the fund through corporate social responsibility initiatives to strengthen the State's education ecosystem.
