Travellers can now get direct train from Liverpool to popular Welsh coastal town ahead of summer holidays

  • A new direct train service has been launched between Liverpool Lime Street and Llandudno, connecting the two coastal locations without the need for a change at Chester.
  • Transport for Wales introduced a major timetable change on 17 May, significantly increasing services and capacity across its network, particularly in North Wales.
  • The North Wales Coast Line has seen a 50 per cent increase in services, strengthening connections between communities and popular seaside towns like Prestatyn and Rhyl.
  • Further improvements include a new 'pay as you go' payment system for 15 stations between Wrexham General and Bidston, alongside infrastructure upgrades such as new footbridges.
  • These changes aim to provide more frequent trains, better connections, and make rail travel more flexible and sustainable for passengers across Wales.
