- He also featured in three UEFA Champions League group-stage campaigns with Cluj, playing against major European clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Roma.
- Tributes have been issued by the Romanian Football Federation, UEFA, and the Apold public authority, with the latter describing him as “a devoted servant of our community” since he became mayor in 2020.
