A group of young men were recently caught on camera relieving themselves along the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) Highway in Johor Bahru.
In a 16-second clip that has been making rounds on the Internet, it showed the men urinating by the roadside, while their multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) was parked nearby with the hazard lights on.
However, none of them seemed to be aware that their act was being captured on camera.
Berita Harian reported that the video was uploaded to social media at 2am yesterday (Sept 20) before a police report was lodged at 6.11am on the same day.
Arrested for gross indecency
Police immediately sprung into action after the report was made, with Johor Bahru Selatan deputy police chief Ng Swie Chait issuing a statement providing further details on the incident.
Ng said the trio, who were aged between 28 and 36 years old, were nabbed at a restaurant located in Taman Maju Jaya at around 9.30pm.
The MPV which was believed to have been used in the clip was also seized.
One of them was found to have a criminal record, but all three men tested negative for drugs.
The case is now being probed under Section 377D of the Penal Code for gross indecency, which carries a penalty of up to two years’ imprisonment upon conviction.
