MetMalaysia issues advisory for tropical depression 518km northwest of Mukah, moving northeast at 19 km/h with 46 km/h winds

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a tropical depression advisory warning of potential strong winds and rough seas in the South China Sea.

MetMalaysia detected the weather system at 11 am today at latitude 6.7 north and longitude 109.4 east.

The tropical depression is located approximately 518 km northwest of Mukah, Sarawak.

It is currently moving northeast at a speed of 19 km per hour.

Maximum wind speeds have reached 46 km per hour according to the department’s monitoring.

The advisory highlights risks to maritime activities and coastal areas from the developing weather system. – BERNAMA
