- President Donald Trump saw sweeping losses Tuesday night as Democrats took control of the House and Senate, per AP News. Trump was quick to take to social media and blame the candidates for the losses. “I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE!” the president said.
- The first major loss Trump saw was Democrat Roy Cooper winning North Carolina's U.S. Senate race, defeating Trump-backed Republican candidate Michael Whatley.
- In South Carolina, Trump heavily campaigned for Republican Darline Graham, sister of late Lindsey Graham, who was unseated by Annie Andrews. Marking the first time in 28 years, South Carolina will have a Democrat in the Senate.
- In a historic victory that will rock Texas politics and pave the way for a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate, Texas voters elected Democratic candidate James Talarico, whom Trump had coined “Talafreako” while campaigning for Ken Paxton.
- Another key race took place in Ohio for governor between Dr. Amy Acton and Trump-backed Vivek Ramaswamy. Ramaswamy lost after failing to denounce a controversial campaign ad featuring Acton’s estranged mother, who claimed Acton lied about her upbringing and urged residents not to vote for her.
