US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Vice President JD Vance would travel to Switzerland for the formal signing of the agreement between the United States and Iran.
Trump made the announcement to reporters on the sidelines of the G7 summit on Lake Geneva during a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Trump did not say whether he would play any role in the signing ceremony himself. The deal was already signed digitally on Sunday.
The US and Iran agreed to the framework accord after weeks of negotiations. The agreement is expected to lead to more detailed talks on a possible end to the conflict between the two countries.
Media reports have said the ceremony will take place in Geneva.
The United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran on Feb. 28. A ceasefire has been in place since April, though it has been punctuated by periodic outbreaks of violence.
Leaders of the Group of Seven major democratic economies - the United States, Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Canada and Japan - are meeting from Monday through Wednesday in the French resort town of Évian-les-Bains on Lake Geneva.
