- President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania hosted the White House Halloween event on Thursday evening, handing out candy directly into trick-or-treaters' bags.
- The relatively tame event avoided earlier viral mishaps in which Trump placed candy bars on top of children's heads or masks.
- Administration members, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, attended the festivities with their families.
- Earlier Thursday, Trump campaigned in South Carolina for Republican Senator Darline Graham, who is facing a tight race against Democrat Annie Andrews.
- Following Thursday's events, Trump reportedly canceled his upcoming weekend rally visits to Kansas and Iowa.
